Mohammed Laiquddin Khan made his transition on January 10, 2016, at home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of CNY. Mac was born December 15, 1930 in Hyderabad, India, the son of Nawab and Begum Zahir Yar Jung. He was predeceased by brothers, Faziluddin and Kutubuddin Khan and sister, Kareem Lateef.
Following his schooling at Dera Doon Royal Military Academy, he came to the United States to study at Antioch College and Ohio State University majoring in Business Administration. He was associated with K-Mart Corp., retiring in 1992. Mac enjoyed summers at Canada Lake, occasional visits back home to Hyderabad, keeping in touch with college friends and OSU football, jazz and Big band music on WAER, following the political scene and in his younger years, playing tennis at a competitive level.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; sons, Jeffrey and Michael; grandchildren, Charlene (Christopher) Masten, Rachel and Stephen Khan; great grandchildren, Natalie and Evan Masten; nephew, Salik Khan and niece, Sabrina (Ashwan) Joshi. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery with arrangements by Sears Middleton Jones Funeral Home. As Mac requested, there will be no formal service or calling hours.
