Andrew G. Chiasson, 84, of Syracuse, passed away August 4, 2016. He was born in Quebec, Canada and served in the US Air Force. He was a member of American Legion Post 1468 and was involved in their Men's Club. He worked in Quality Control for Armstrong Mold in East Syracuse. There he designed the Eastman Award that was given to the Most Outstanding Collegiate Basketball Player of the Year and its recipients include Michael Jordan and Patrick Ewing. He also enjoyed wood carving and won a blue ribbon prize and best in class award for his wood carved design at the New York State Fair. He is survived by his wife, Diana (Polley) Chiasson; his children, Rayna, Dawn, Michael, Mark, Charles, Joyce, Dana, Andre and Mary Jane; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; his brother, Charles Chiasson. Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 PM in Sears Middleton Jones Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., North Syracuse, NY. Burial in Onondaga Valley Cemetery, Tuesday at 11 AM.
