Allen H. Sager

Allen H. Sager, 83, of North Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at The Cottages at Garden Grove in Cicero. He was born in Syracuse, the eldest child of Louis and Wealthy (Haven) Sager. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the First Cavalry Division as a medic. He was employed as a computer programmer by Syracuse Supply Co and Liftech Equipment Co. Allen was a lifelong member of the Boy Scouts of America, as a youth in Mattydale, Scoutmaster of Troop 116 in Cicero, District Chairman in Hiawatha Council of Syracuse and committee member of the William Hillcourt Scout Museum in Constantia. Allen and Jean delivered for Meals on Wheels for many years. They attended Bellewood Baptist Church of North Syracuse. Allen is survived by his wife of sixty years, Jean Grossman Sager; three sons and their families, Jim and Bev (Gaskill) Sager of Townsend, MA, their daughter, Jennifer Kelly and granddaughters, Amanda and Lauren; Dan and Tracy (Zuk) Sager of Brewerton and their children, Ashley Sager of Beaverton, OR, Brittany Stolz of Baldwinsville and Tom Sager of Jordan; Mark and Jennifer (Rogers) Sager of Bridgeport and their sons, Kyle, Derek and Zachary and grandson, Brandon; his siblings, Robert (Edythe) Sager of Liverpool, Ronald (Jan) Sager of Cicero, Sharon (John) Seigart of Liverpool and David Sager of Cicero. There will be no services or calling hours. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bellewood Baptist Church, 445 Church St., North Syracuse, NY 13212, North Syracuse Meals on Wheels, 413 Church St., North Syracuse, NY 13212 or a charity of one's choice.
