Joseph S. (Shorty) Warguleski, 84, of 702 Boulevard St., Mattydale, NY, died Wednesday April 9, 2003 at St. Joseph's Hospital & Health Center Syracuse, New York.
He was born in Scranton, PA. He served in the Army from 1936 to 1945 and received the PurpleHeart and Bronze Star. He was a Foreman with Crucible Metals in Syracuse. He was a member of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale, a member of the D.A.V. and American Legion, Salina Seniors Club, and the Moose Club, in Solvay.
"Shorty" was an avid bowler, golfer, hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, the former Rosemond Wolff; a daughter, Rosemary Warguleski of Pulaski, NY; two sons, E. James and Robert Warguleski of Mattydale, NY; three grandsons, Christopher, Timothy and Simon; two granddaughters, Barbara and Sara; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral will be held Saturday at 8:15 a.m. at Sears-Middleton-Jones Funeral Home Inc., 209 North Main Street (Rt 11), North Syracuse, with a Funeral Mass Saturday at 9 a.m. at St. Margaret's, Mattydale.
Interment will be Saturday in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt.
